The production of concrete is highly intensive in terms of energy, water and raw materials, and accounts for almost 5% of global CO2 emissions. Moreover, repair of existing concrete is often challenging.
As a solution, Basilisk has developed concrete additives and repair products that contain bacteria that precipitate limestone when in contact with oxygen and moist, creating an autonomous repair system in the concrete.
These products will increase the durability and service-lifetime of concrete structures, whilst decreasing repair costs and related downtime.
